Gem of the Week

It seems like every day, we hear of another company that has declared bankruptcy, announces they lost profits last quarter, and plans to layoff more people due to the recession.

This is a really scary time for so many people. I already know 3 families whose husbands have had to find new employement within the last 9 months. I was talking to a friend after Mass this morning. She said all the "what if's" are hard to deal with, and it is normal for a person to be afraid of the unknown.

"If" she said, stands for "I fear."

God knows it is only human of us to let the uncertain raise questions, doubts, and concerns. Yet His plan is always the best for us, even if the path to sanctification is wrought with trials. So the best thing to do is keep focused on Christ. There is no "what if" with Jesus, only "I AM."
