Well, this morning, my eye was red, definitely irritated, and swollen. Since I'm going on a three day retreat starting tomorrow, I decided I'd bet not take a chance, and went into the eye doctor. He confirmed my suspicions-- I had a minor eye infection. This does happen from time to time with people who wear soft contacts like I do. This is only the second time I've had one.
So I dropped off my prescription at the pharmacy, and went back later on this afternoon to pick it up. I already knew it would likely be a tiny little bottle of eye drops. The young lady in the drive-through window took my name, and then said,
"Your total is $25.00."
What??? For eye drops? Are you serious?
(I only said the first and second sentences out loud. Really...)
Okay, I know $25 dollars isn't that much. And my prescription drug plan (aka insurance) did save me $59.99. I am thankful we have insurance in of itself, believe me. The kids have been very healthy (praise God) all year, and we have adequate funds in our medical expense account. I had to pay $40 for the doctor's visit, and I was able to put that towards the account too. But still...
I took a picture just so y'all could see. The bottle is just over 2 inches tall, and it holds exactly 5ml. I'm supposed to put 4 drops in my eye 4 times a day for a week.

Wow, those are some expensive eyedrops! $85? We're dealing with insurance qualms at the moment...no fun! Hope you have an incredibly beautiful retreat...I'm sure you will. I'll be with you in prayer!
ReplyDeleteI can't find your email address, but I am still interested in the glider. Do you have a picture? Thanks so much!
